Product Description
Both the 964 and 993 ran hotter than earlier air-cooled 911s for a variety of reasons. Increased performance output, new emissions regulations, and limited space in the engine bay were all contributing factors. Porsche was definitely stretching the limits of air/oil cooling. Especially given the cooling technology and design of that day and age.
Following the incredible success and enthusiastic response to the CSF 911/930 Turbo Fender Oil Cooler (#8168), CSF has expanded its Porsche performance lineup with a modern OEM+ upgrade for the last of the air-cooled 911s. Introducing the all-new CSF OEM+ Performance Engine Oil Cooler for the Porsche 964 and 993.
Design & Engineering
To develop a truly modern cooling solution for the 964 and 993, CSF once again partnered with Porsche engine building and restoration experts at SV Auto. Their deep expertise in engine restoration and air-cooled performance provided CSF with key insights that shaped the design of this next-gen cooler. Leveraging technology from the best selling G-Body Engine Oil Cooler (a project that took over 18 months and a $20,000+ R&D investment) this new cooler brings the best modern engineering to the 911.
Engineered to fit seamlessly into concours-winning restorations, this CSF oil cooler retains a factory-style look while delivering cutting-edge performance and technology. Whether you're restoring a classic 964/993, building a high-horsepower restomod, or prepping a car for the track, this is the ultimate OEM+ and performance cooling upgrade for your 911.

Pfaff Tuning has been working with the 964 platform to pursue true OEM+ perfection since 2012. They have created a unique Bespoke program aimed at delivering the ultimate driving and ownership experience for 964 enthusiasts. Their expert team handles everything from standard maintenance to full restorations and custom builds. Pfaff Tuning uses only genuine OEM Porsche parts or the highest quality aftermarket upgrades like the CSF OEM+ Performance Oil Cooler.
CSF vs OEM
The original LƤngerer & Reich oil cooler for the Porsche 964 and 993 was designed back in the 1980s. While it was cutting-edge at the time, it has definitely started to show its age. Even though OEM replacements are still available through the Porsche Classic program, they are built with the same outdated technology and materials as they were 30+ years ago. Replacing a clogged or failing unit with a OEM cooler may fix the immediate issues, but it won't deliver any real improvement in performance or reliability.
